The U.S.-Palestinian Partnership (UPP) and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce (UCC) held the Palestinian Business and Investment Forum (PBIF) on Tuesday, October 14. The PBIF, which was designed to take advantage of the momentum created earlier this year at the Palestine Investment Conference in Bethlehem, featured keynote speeches by U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad. The packed schedule featured panels, business-to-business networking and investment announcements all intended to deepen Palestinian-U.S. economic relations and update U.S. business leaders on investment opportunities in Palestine.

The PBIF brought together a delegation of top Palestinian businessmen and their American counterparts to discuss business opportunities in Palestine. The audience of over 200 Palestinian, American and international businessmen listened to a wide range of panels, including discussions on agribusiness, information and communication technology, tourism and resources for doing business in Palestine.

Dr. Ziad Asali, President of the American Task Force on Palestine (ATFP) and Co-Chair of the UPP moderated a panel on the Pharmaceutical sector in Palestine. He was joined on the panel by Dr. Adnan Mjalli, ATFP Board Member and President of TransTech Pharma as well as Mr. Talal Nasreddin, CEO of the Birzeit Pharmaceutical Company and Chairman of the Union of Palestinian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers.
