While living in Jerusalem, George focused the point of his brush in the regions between Northern Syria and Southern Egypt. He explored the culture and dry ambience of beautiful and ancient cities such as Jerusalem, Damascus, and Cairo, as well as the rich areas of Wadi Rum and the Sinai deserts, which he rendered in rich aquarelles. Here, his brush captures the simplicity, serenity, and beauty of three women chatting at the Sultan Qaitbey fountain, in the early morning, in Jerusalem.
