Message From the Chairman

It gives me great pleasure to introduce to you the pilot issue of the Palestine Investment Fund’s (PIF) newsletter “PIF Investment News”. Through this publication, we aim to share with you the recent developments on PIF’s initiatives, programs and activities. We hope that this newsletter, which will be circulated on a bi-monthly basis, will serve as an effective communication tool and a link between PIF and our partners, as well as local and international organizations.

There are many achievements and exciting developments to report to you on, from finalizing the first ever cross-border syndicated loan for Wataniya Palestine Telecom (“WPT”) to securing the commitment of OPIC to provide USD $325 Million for the new Affordable Mortgage and Loan Company (“AMAL”), to the launch of Al-Reehan Real Estate Development Company which will develop Palestine’s first planned community targeting working and middle class families.

Driven by our vision of building a sustainable independent Palestinian economy, we have been working diligently to make this vision a reality. We have done this by launching a wide array of strategic projects and programs in partnership with prominent local, regional and international organizations.

PIF is unfolding a new chapter of strategic investments in Palestine through unprecedented ventures such as Wataniya, Al-Reehan Real Estate Development Company and AMAL. Our values of professionalism, diligence, transparency and dedication to Palestine have been the cornerstone of our achievements over the past two years.

We look forward to continued success in 2009 and beyond, and we hope to keep you informed of our progress through future issues of this newsletter.

Sincerely,

Dr. Mohammad Mustafa
Chairman and CEO
