Fashion designer Rami Kashou from Ramallah came to the United States upon graduating high school to attend Brooks College in California. He is the son of an eclectic and fashionable mother and as a young man, was often commissioned by the local town socialites to create designs for them. After a few months in college, he decided to make his own path and travel to Europe, where he taught himself pattern-making. After three years, Kashou began to create his own collection, which was then picked up by Aero & Co. and Diavolina, two notable boutiques in Los Angeles. Rami Kashou was one of 15 hopefuls in the fourth season of Bravo’s television program Project Runway. He started out the season as a frontrunner, winning the first challenge and placing second overall. His work is being sold in “notable boutiques,” and has been featured in magazines like InStyle, People and Us Weekly. He's dressed such stars as Jessica Alba, Jennifer Lopez, Portia De Rossi, Fergie, Amy Smart, Lucy Lui, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, and Penelope Cruz. Tyra Banks featured Rami and his Spring/Summer 2007 line on her daily talk show as an upcoming designer to watch. |
