Protesters in Gaza organized a massive rally Thursday in solidarity with Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli jails.
Participants raised Palestinian flags, and held pictures of hunger strikers. They condemned aggressive Israeli practices. Palestinian national and Islamic factions participated in the rally.
Rasmi Abu al-Ainin, a member of the the Palestinian Arabic Front political office, called for implementing national unity to support the Palestinian prisoners inside Israeli jails.
He also condemned the Israeli prison authority's practices against Palestinian prisoners. He stressed that all prisoners need to be released, and this is considered a national duty that deserves all support, assistance and solidarity. It also requires public and officials pressure at all levels.
He called on human rights organizations to pressure Israel to stop abusing prisoners.
The released prisoner Amin Salih, a leader in the DFLP, called upon the Palestinian people to intensify their solidarity activities to support long-term hunger strikers.
