RAMALLAH, June 22, 2011 (WAFA) – Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad in a statement Wednesday condemned the media allegations published Tuesday that denied Saudi Arabia’s support to the Palestinians.
Fayyad considered these allegations an attempt to harm the Saudi brotherly relations with Palestinians.
He reiterated his praise of the Saudi continues support; as he had stated in several occasions that the direct aid by the Saudi Arabia to the Palestinian budget had reached over US$ 750 million during the period 2007-2010, let alone the other development aids to the Palestinian Authority (PA) through regional and international donor institutions.
Fayyad also praised the Arab continues support of the national Palestinian rights, with Saudi Arabia at the forefront; Palestinians’ right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state based on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital.
He added that the continues Arab support to the Palestinians had a major affect on their steadfastness, expressing his confidence that Arabs will always be there to support Palestinians in order to enable them to overcome their financial crisis and the Israeli blackmailing attempts against Palestinians’ choices and their national unity.
