The Arab League (AL) decided Tuesday to postpone the "Jerusalem Conference" scheduled in Doha, Qatar early February to indefinite date due to the serious situation in Egypt and some other Arab countries.
Mohammed Soubie, assistant of the AL general secretary, announced the postpone in a statement after a series of consultations between Qatar, the hosting country and the AL.
According to a decision adopted at the Arab Summit held in Libya last October, an international conference will be held with the participation of Arab and foreign countries, as well as civil institutions to discuss defending Jerusalem against Israeli violation at all levels.
Recently, Tunisia, Egypt and several other Arab countries witnessed massive anti-government protests, calling for political and economic reforms.
