The Israeli army has on Wednesday expelled a freed Palestinian prisoner from the West Bank to Gaza Strip, an official said.
Nash'at al-Waheidi, in charge of public relations in the Gaza- based Palestinian Prisoners' Committee, said in a press statement that Israel started to implement its military order of evictions.
Last week, the Israeli Ha'aretz Daily revealed that the Israeli army had issued an order to expel thousands of Palestinians, who are not basically registered as West Bank residents, from the territory to the Gaza Strip.
The daily reported that the Israeli army would evict thousands of Palestinians, who sneaked into the West Bank and lived there for several years, to the Gaza Strip.
"This evening, Israel evicted the first case from the West Bank to the Gaza Strip. The evicted Palestinian is Ahmad Sabbah, 38, who has just ended nine years imprisonment in an Israeli jail," said al-Waheidi.
Sabbah was arrested in 2001, one year after the second Palestinian Intifada, or uprising, erupted against Israel in the Palestinian territories.
According to the Israeli daily report, the Israeli army order became active last week, and the army commander of the territory is authorized to evict any person who is caught without having permission or a legal document to stay.
