A Palestinian man was moderately wounded on Thursday afternoon during a demonstration against the security fence in the West Bank village of Naalin, located west of Ramallah.
Some 150 Palestinians and left-wing activists are currently staging at protest there against the construction of the security fence, and are hurling rocks towards Border Police troops that are securing the site.
Palestinian sources reported the man was beaten by IDF and Border Guard troops, but security forces maintain he was wounded as a result of an errant rock thrown by a fellow protestor. The wounded protestor was treated at the scene by Palestinian paramedics.
Three additional demonstrators were lightly wounded by rubber bullets. The army confirmed troops are
responding with means of riot dispersal, including the firing of rubber-coated steel bullets.
Last week and Israeli photographer and two Border Guard officers were wounded in yet another day of clashes in Naalin from rocks thrown at them by demonstrators. Protestors reported seven people sustained light injuries as well.
The day before that a total of 17 demonstrators were wounded by rubber bullets and physical confrontations. One protestor, a Swedish citizen, broke her leg in clashes with security forces. She was evacuated for medical treatment in the village clinic. One protestor was arrested.
