Ziyad will be begining his senior year this fall at The University of Maryland, College Park, pursuing a degree in Middle Eastern Studies. Ziyad just returned from Haifa where he spent a semester enrolled Middle Eastern culture and Political Science courses. As an Arab-American, Ziyad has always been interested in the political and legislative processes that go into US policy towards towards the Middle East; he has interned on the Hill, the DNC, and Gov. O'malley's 2010 reelection campaign. He is currently working on his BA thesis which focuses on the effect of the Arab Spring on the Arab Diaspora community and its identity.
