Adil Awadh is the Communications Director at the American Task Force on Palestine (ATFP). He is an award-winning journalist who has a history that spans working as a medical doctor in Iraq to becoming a voice for moderation and coexistence in the Middle East.
In 2007, he received two international awards for media excellence while working as a senior editor at the Middle East Broadcasting Network, US government funded Arabic TV and Radio that broadcast to the Middle East. The Association for International Broadcasting called Adil a “heavyweight presenter” who brought Radio Sawa “a level of credibility.” Adil was chosen by Elaph website, a leading electronic Arabic news website, as one of the most successful Arab professionals in 2007. Adil earned a master’s degree in journalism from Georgetown University in 2010. As a journalism student and then a fellow of the Pearl Project at Georgetown University, Adil helped investigating the kidnapping and murder of the Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl.
Adil’s articles appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Salon, The Daily Star, Al-Arabiya, Bitterlemons, as well as Arabic newspapers like Asharqalawsat and Al-Hayat. He also appeared on Fox News, CBC, Kuwaiti satellite and other TV channels and radios. In Iraq, he practiced medicine until 1996.
